The company, producing propulsion systems, had a huge back order and needed to reorganize the production as well improve the lead time in production.
PROJECT PLANNING and EXECUTION
Introduction modern Production Planning and Shop Floor Management as well as performing 6S training and coaching of the Supervisors in Lean Manufacturing were the steps to take.
First the communication between Order Intake and production was improved. At the same time 5S activities were started on the shop floor to reduce non value activities.
Than a more detailed production planning and scheduling with visual management on the shop floor was developed and implemented.
